This Regulation of the Minister of Environment, which is composed of 15 articles and one Annex, lays down the criteria and method for assessing the status of bodies of groundwater, including: (1) classification of physico-chemical elements; (2) classification of quantitative and chemical state; (3) method of interpreting results of tests of physico-chemical elements; (4) method of presentation of the state; (5) frequency of the assessment of the state; (6) threshold values of environmental quality standards expressed as the concentration of a given pollutant or group of these substances expressed as an indicator which should not be exceeded for reasons of the environmental protection and human health. Art. 2 defines five quality classes of physico-chemical state of groundwater.
