This Regulation applies as a supplement to some of the EU Regulations on food additives, food placing on the market and labelling, consumer information about foodstuff and food safety. This Regulation provides for the movement, safekeeping and storage of nitrites as well as the requirements for the production of nitrite curing salt. Article 3 of the Regulation refers to the permitted food additives for beer production. The Regulation further provides the information that should be used on packaging and labelling of food products. Article 6 of the Regulation refers to criminal offences for transports, keep or storing nitrites and producing nitrite curing salt without a permit. Article 7 refers to administrative offences.
