This Notification determines the composition, labeling, presentation and advertising requirements of infant formulas and follow-on formulas, and requirements on information relating to infant and young child feeding. This Notification lays down provisions on the placing on the market; compositional requirements; suitability of ingredients; requirements on pesticides; specific requirements on food information; specific requirements on the nutrition declaration; requirements on information relating to infant and young child feeding; requirements for promotional and commercial practices for infant formula; food additives; flavorings and food ingredients with flavoring properties; contaminants; hygiene; veterinary drug tolerance levels; substances and materials in contact with food; transport and storage; sampling and analysis methods; and statements related to lactose and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). This Notification is drafted in line with the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2016/127 of 25 September 2015 supplementing Regulation (EU) No 609/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the specific compositional and information requirements for infant formula and follow-on formula and as regards requirements on information relating to infant and young child feeding.
