Environmental Governance
Definition(s)
means the transmission of know-how, equipment and products to governments, organizations or other stakeholders. It usually also implies adaptation for use in a specific cultural, social, economic and environmental context. (Source: UNEP, Glossary of Terms for Negotiators of Multilateral Environmental Agreements (Nairobi, 2007))
The transfer of development and design work: a) from a parent company to a subsidiary, perhaps in another nation where it will be paid for in repatriated profits or royalties; b) from one country to another as a form of aid to help promote development and sustainable growth. Many nations have made great progress on the strength of technology transfer. (Source: GEMET/GILP96)
