The Act aims to regulate agricultural use of fertilizers and establishes requirements for the installation of plant cover and other crop-related protective measures to reduce nitrogen leakage. These provisions apply to commercial entities with crops or livestock or combination thereof, having an annual taxable turnover exceeding DKK 50 000 on a total area of 10 hectares or more. The planned period for these preventions go from 1 August to 31 July (annual), while crops treated before 30 September and harvested before 31 December may have an extended planned period to 30 September.
