The present Act has been enacted in order to implement the provisions contained in Directive 83/189/EEC, which establishes a procedure for providing information in the field of technical standards and regulations. The present rules shall apply to the products defined under article 1, including agricultural products. On the other side, the products referred to in article 2 shall not fall within this legislative framework. Article 5 specifies the information which shall be submitted annually by the standardization bodies to the Commission and the institutions referred to in the same article.
