The aim of these Measures is to ensure the inspection and quarantine of live cattle for supplying to Hong Kong and Macao, prevent the spread of infectious diseases and parasitic diseases, and ensure the hygiene and food safety of live cattle for Hong Kong and Macao. The Measures consist of 44 articles divided into 6 Chapters: General matters; Registration; Control and prevention of animal disease; Inspection and quarantine; Supervision and administration; Supplementary provisions.
The General Administration of Customs will manage the inspection and quarantine of live cattle for Hong Kong and Macao. The feedlots for live cattle for Hong Kong and Macao shall apply registration.
