The present Law lays down provisions relating to the a): promotion and strengthening of farming enterprises within the cantonal economy; b) promotion of a market-oriented agriculture both respecting animals and the environment; c) conservation of the natural basis of production; d) promotion of the production of healthy foodstuff and its marketing; e) the securing of the cultivated land in its beauty by sustainable development. The Law applies to all agricultural enterprises and lands including alpine regions and pastures as well as to animal farms and to productive gardening. The text consists of 37 articles divided into 9 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Competent authorities (II); Production and marketing (III); Livestock farming (IV); Contributions and subsidies (V); Vocational training and farm advising (VI); Costs and fees (VII); Contracts of employment (VIII); Final provisions (IX).
