The present Ordinance lays down provisions relating to fisheries in the Canton of Schwyz. It applies to all still and running waters. The Cantonal Council is in charge of the composition of the Fishery Commission, as well as issuing regulations on voluntary fishery inspectors, close seasons, minimum catch, prohibition of fishing, fishing gear, and protected fishing zones. There are different sorts of permits, such as long terms and short terms for lakes and brooks (art. 7). Fishing leases are normally granted for the duration of 5 years. Sub-leases are not allowed. Part V deals with fishing gear to be used for lakes and brooks by professional fishers. The Fishery Commission may withdraw the fishing permit in case of violation of the Laws and Ordinance in force.
