Member States shall ensure that all bovine animals over 30 months of age and subject to special emergency slaughtering or slaughtered in accordance with Directive 64/433/EEC are examined by one of the approved rapid tests listed out in Annex IV (A) to Decision 98/272/EC as of January 2001. Member States shall submit a report on the number of animals examined in accordance with paragraphs 1 and 2 and the results thereof to the Commission. All parts of the body, including the hide, of animals examined in accordance with article 1 shall be retained under official supervision until a negative test result has been obtained or until it has been destroyed by incineration or, under exceptional circumstances, burned or buried in strict compliance with the conditions laid down in article 3(2) of Council Directive 90/667/EEC. Article 3 regards sampling and laboratory testing. Two Annexes are attached.
