This Regulation lays down rules concerning the introduction into the European Union of personal consignments of products of animal origin of a non commercial character which (i) form part of travelers luggage, (ii) are sent as small consignments to private persons, or (iii) are ordered remotely and delivered to the consumer. The aim is to prevent the spread of animal diseases and to ensure the protection of animal health and human health.
