This Law may be cited as the Control of Atmospheric Pollution (Amendment) Law of 2008 and shall be read as one with the Control of Atmospheric Pollution Laws of 2002 and 2007 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Law"). The principal Law and the present Law shall be read as one and will be referred to as the Control of Atmospheric Pollution Laws, 2002-2008. For the purposes of a better alignment with Council Directive 96/61/EC concerning integrated pollution prevention and control, as amended by EC Regulation No. 166/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the establishment of a European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register and amending Council Directives 91/689/EEC and 96/61/EC, this law carries forward amendments to the basic law by amending articles Nos. 8, 11, 16 and 20, by adding new articles Nos. 12A and 20A, 20B and by replacing several sections of Annexes II and III.
