This Order makes provision for the registration of hatcheries, breeding flocks and laying flocks of birds of the species Gallus gallus, turkeys, ducks and geese, and imposes record-keeping and notification requirements. The Regulations also appoint the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development as the competent authority for purposes of Community legislation here implemented and prohibit the use of antimicrobials and of live salmonella vaccines.
