This Regulation provides for the application by the European Community of a multiannual recovery plan for bluefin tuna, in accordance with the recommendations of the International Commission for the Conservation of the Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT). These provisions, which apply to bluefin tuna in the Eastern Atlantic and the Mediterranean, deal with total allowable catches, minimum size under which bluefin tuna may not be caught, closed fishing seasons, bycatches and particular control measures (register of vessels and tuna traps, catch reports, etc.). Regulation (EC) No. 520/2007 is amended by deleting the provisions concerning bluefin tuna.
