This Decree-Law is composed of four chapters divided into 17 articles and two annexes. It regulates mineral water trade, providing a definition of water types and springs. Special attention is paid to health standards and hygiene control; it also establishes sanctions for non-compliance with the provisions set therein. The provisions of this Decree-Law and its regulations shall apply to the collection, plumbing, storage or bottling and labelling of water, excluding the public water supply system under Decree-Law No. 4/2004.
