These Regulations prescribe measures to be taken in the case of suspected or confirmed outbreak of (Highly Pathogenic or Low Pathogenic) Avian Influenza and preventive measures within protection and surveillance zones.
The measures include immediate notification of the disease, measures to be applied on affected holdings, quarantine, also in respect of poultry products, application of biosecurity measures, slaughtering, cleansing and disinfection, establishment of protection, surveillance and further restricted zones, etc. The Regulations also concern derogations to be granted by official veterinarians, vaccination, measures in respect of pigs, compensation, powers of officers and prescribe offences.
These Regulations prescribe measures to be taken in the case of suspected or confirmed outbreak of (Highly Pathogenic or Low Pathogenic) Avian Influenza and preventive measures within protection and surveillance zones.
The European Communities (Avian Influenza) Regulations 1994 (S.I. No. 172 of 1994) are repealed.
