This Order regulates hygienic and health aspects in relation to the handling of and trade in milk. This Order implements EEC Council Directive on health and animal health problems affecting intra-Community trade in heat-treated milk and EEC Commission Directive 89/362 on general conditions of hygiene on milk production holdings. "Heat-treated milk" includes concentrated, pasteurised milk. Heat-treated milk other than heat-treated milk specified in Article 3 of the Council Directive No. 85/397/EEC shall not be imported into the State from another Member State. Heat-treated milk shall not be exported from the State to another Member State unless it meets requirements laid down in regulation 3. The Minister shall establish and maintain a register of approved milk treatment establishments, approved milk collection centres, approved milk standardization centres and approved production holdings.
