These Regulations amend the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992 and the Waste Management Act 1996 to transpose Chapters II and VI of Directive 2010/75/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on industrial emissions (integrated pollution prevention and control). The Regulations apply to the industrial emissions directive activities specified in the First Schedule to the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992, as amended by these Regulations. They also make consequential amendments to Regulations affected by the transposition of Chapter II of the Directive. The amendents of the 1992 Act also concern use best alternative technologies available and appoint the Environmental Protection Agency as the competent authority for the purposes of the Directive.
