Government Decree No. 520 validating the Regulation on pollutants in foodstuffs shall be supplemented with Sections III-V establishing that foodstuffs that do not meet the maximum levels specified in the Annex cannot be used as food ingredients. Food products corresponding to the maximum levels set forth in the Annex should not be mixed with foodstuffs that exceed these levels. Foodstuffs to be sorted or otherwise physically processed to reduce pollution should not be mixed with food intended for human consumption or with food intended for use as food ingredients. Foodstuffs containing pollutants specified in chapter I of the Annex (mycotoxins) shall not be intentionally detoxified by chemical methods. It also establishes processing methods and labelling for forest nuts (arachis), other oilseeds, dried fruits, rice and corns.
