This Law regulates the Rural Support Service of Latvia. Its purpose is to ensure the uniform implementation of agricultural and rural support policy, as well as the system of administration of state and European Union support in the country. The Rural Support Service is a subordinate direct administration institution responsible for the unified implementation of State aid and European Union support policy in the State, supervises the observance of regulatory enactments in the field of agriculture and related functions.
The scope of this Law shall be to ensure realization of common state policy of rural areas and villages, and also the system of administration of state support and support of the European Union within the state. Rural areas support service shall be subordinated to the Ministry of Agriculture and it shall be responsible for realization of state policy related to support of rural areas.
