This Law provides measures, principles and regulations for the tourism industry in Lao. It aims at promoting and developing cultural, historical and nature tourism in a sustainable way, at transforming it into a modern tourism industry and at contributing to national protection and development.
The Law provides for the following: tourism resources; survey and registration of tourism resources; tourism activities such as advertisement, communication tools, transportation, accommodation, entertainment, safety, tour guides etc.; planning of tourism development; activities related to tourism business; prohibitions relating to tourism; administration and inspection of tourism; etc.
