These Regulations implement in Scotland Community legislation introducing a positive Community list of additives approved for use in the manufacture of plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with foods. The Regulations, among other things: prohibit specified activities in relation to any plastic material or article which fails to meet the appropriate required standards set out in the Regulations; prohibit the use of monomers and additives in the manufacture of plastic materials and articles; and set out standards for monomer or an additive and sets migration limits.
