These Regulations, for purposes of implementing provisions in Directive 2009/21/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on compliance with flag State requirements require the Secretary of State: to ensure that certain information in respect of United Kingdom ships is kept and remains readily accessible; to provide information relating to a former United Kingdom ship upon request from the State whose flag the ship is now entitled to fly; to review the operation and effect of these Regulations and publish a report within five years after they come into force and within every five years after that.
