Aim of this Decision is the harmonization of the Greek legislative frame with the provisions of Council Directive 96/82/EC on the control of major-accident hazards involving dangerous substances. The Decision shall apply to any establishment (except of those described in article 4) where dangerous substances are present, in quantities equal to or superior to those reported in Annex I to this Decision.

Decisions on the same subject with numbers 18187/1988 (Official Gazette No. 126, part II) and 77119/1993 (Official Gazette No. 532, part II) are abrogated by the entry into force of the present Decision.
