The purpose of the Order is to monitor effectiveness of market competition at wholesale and retail levels for electricity and gas supply.
These activities include consumer prices; the share of customers switching supplier as well as the share of discontinued consumers; payment for and provision of maintenance services; appeals from consumers to the Board on Energy or the Energy Regulatory Authority; length of time electricity and gas transmission companies need to connect and repair; occurrence of restrictive contractual practices concerning the supply of electricity and gas, including exclusivity of clauses preventing or limiting consumers ability to simultaneously enter into contract with more than one vendor.
