By decision on the amended classification of watercourses, the authority shall ensure that streams within municipal boundaries are uniformly classified. This Order regulates such initiatives, whereby the watercourse authorities may decide that private streams or river lines shall be reclassified upwards to a public waterway. The authorities shall also register provisions applicable to the each stream. These records are publicly available and can be shown only on their website. Decisions on streams under this Order may be appealed to the Environmental Board of Appeal.
The Order consists of 3 Chapters: Classification of streams (1); Registration of streams (2); Appeals and entry into force (3).
