The Order applies to the transportation of ship-generated waste. Reception facilities for ship-generated waste and cargo residues from ships must be established in every Danish port. The Danish Nature Agency shall also grant companies shipping and/or receiving oil, ship-repairing companies and bunkering companies an injunction to establish facilities destined to the reception of oil mixed ballast, tank washing water, sewer waste-water. The owners of ports shall ensure that facilities are established in accordance with the Order's guidelines, and that these reception facilities are capable to receive hazardous substance waste as well. Passing/transit ships shall be exempt from the delivery of waste in Danish harbours if provided with sufficient evidence of an existingt system which ensures that the generated waste and payment of fees is planned in a port along the ship's route.
