These Regulations, among other things: (a) prohibit specified activities in relation to any plastic material or article which fails to meet the appropriate required standards set out in the Regulations; (b) prohibit the use of monomers and additives in the manufacture of plastic materials and articles other than in accordance with specified conditions; (c) specify the required standards for the composition of products and relating to overall migration limits from plastic materials or articles to food; (d) provide with respect to sampling and analysis of products, enforcement and offences. The main change in respect of the revoked Regulations is to provide for the execution and enforcement in Wales of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 597/2008 amending Commission Regulation (EC) No. 372/2007 laying down transitional migration limits for plasticisers in gaskets in lids intended to come into contact with foods.
