These Regulations amend various enactments in order to transpose aspects of Directive 2008/98/ EC on waste. The enactments include the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and the Environment Act 1995. Amendments to the Environmental Protection Act 1990 concern, among other things: the prohibition on unauthorized or harmful depositing, treatment or disposal of waste; the duty of care etc. as respects waste; and waste Management Licences in general.
