This Order specifies in Schedule 1 enactments that are relevant enactments within the meaning of section 2 of the Water Environment and Water Services (Scotland) Act 2003. Pursuant to this specification, the Scottish Ministers and Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) shall exercise their respective functions under those enactments so as to secure compliance with the requirements of Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for Community action in the field of water policy and shall act in accordance with the requirements of section 2(4) of the Water Environment and Water Services (Scotland) Act 2003. This Order also designates certain public bodies and office-holders as responsible authorities for the purposes of Part 1 of the Act.
