The present Ordinance implements Annex II and V of the Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for Community action in the field of water policy.The first Part consists of general provisions, sphere of application, definition of terms; the second Part deals with surface water, in particular with the assessment of water pollution, classification of waters, monitoring of ecological and chemical state of waters, representation of monitoring results; the third Part concerns groundwater, in particular with the description and assessment of groundwater, classification and monitoring of state of groundwater, classification and monitoring of the chemical state of groundwater, representation of monitoring results; and the fourth Part lays down provisions relating to economical analysis and final provisions. The text consists of 15 articles divided into 4 Parts and 13 Annexes.
