9th Session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Water Convention

The meeting successfully highlighted the importance of transboundary water cooperation, welcomed Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, and Togo as new Parties, and saw the signing of the Ministerial Declaration on the Senegalo-Mauritanian Aquifer Basin by ministers from The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania, and Senegal.

13th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS COP13)

Parties adopted the Gandhinagar Declaration calling for migratory species and “ecological connectivity” to be integrated and prioritized in the post-2020 global biodiversity framework. Rules of procedure for the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification in Those Countries Experiencing Serious Drought and/or Desertification, Particularly in Africa

The Rules of Procedure were adopted at COP 1 (see below 1/COP.1). Subsequently rules 22, 31 and 47 were amended at COP 2 (see below 20/COP.2 and 21/COP.2) but the final text of rule 47 remains unresolved (see below 24/COP.12).
