Having considered the invitation of the United Nations Environment Assembly, in its resolution 3/9 on eliminating exposure to lead paint and promoting environmentally sound management of waste lead-acid batteries, to consider revising the technical guidelines for the environmentally sound management of waste lead-acid batteries1 regarding the application of new technologies in different aspects of environmentally sound management systems,
1.Recalls decision VI/22, by which it adopted the technical guidelines for the environmentally sound management of waste lead-acid batteries;
2.Decides to include in the work programme of the Open-ended Working Group for the biennium 2020–2021 the consideration of whether the technical guidelines for the environmentally sound management of waste lead-acid batteries referred to in decision VI/22 should be updated;
