This Decree, based on the provisions of the Commodities Act, and consisting of 24 articles, provides for implementing the European Directive 2000/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council relating to cocoa and chocolate products intended for human consumption; for defining measures concerning trade of food and drink products containing cocoa and derivates. The Decree defines the following terms and limits their use according to the composition of the products: cocoa butter; chocolate; milk chocolate; dry milk solids; sugars; gianduja. The Decree concerns: permitted elements to be added during preparation of chocolate food and drink products; oils and vegetable fats and scientific designation of the plants from which the fats are extracted; specific information to the consumers; labelling and packaging of products.
