The present Government Decree provides for the inspection and other official controls of meat of domestic odd-toed ungulates, poultry, reindeer and other farmed game and free-range game, on the agricultural holdings from which the animals come and in slaughterhouses referred to in Paragraphs 6 (22) and (23) of the Food Act and in game handling facilities.
Its provisions regulate the possibility of slaughterhouse staff to assist the National Food Administration in meat inspections; maximum annual slaughter volumes; cases where autopsies are necessary; duties of official veterinarians in inspection activities; ante-mortem and post-mortem inspections; training requirements for persons performing trichinae tests; special requirements for handling approved meat; labeling of meat subject to special handling requirements; etc.
