This lays dow rights and obligations of legal persons and individuals involved in the cultivation of varieties of genetically modified plants. Furthermore, the Act regulates the registration of clands where genetically modified plants are cultivated and sets out conditions for dealing with genetically modified plants and their reproductive material. Further provisions concern the protection of plants cultivated through conventional methods as well as organic production. The Acto also lays down the penalties to be applied in case of infringement.
