The Act sets rules on the keeping of indoor pregnant sows and gilts kept for farming. The Act includes provisions for the acceptable conditions of livestock keeping (size, boxes etc.). Should a person violate provisions as mentioned in article 24a, section 1 of Animal Welfare Act, a notification of animal husbandry injunction shall apply within a determined timeframe and measures shall be taken according to these rules. The injunction shall be notified in writing. The Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries may lay down rules that written communication on matters covered by this Act or regulations issued under this Act shall be digital.
