The purpose of these Measures is to strengthen the management of monitoring, prevention and control of epidemics and epidemic sources for terrestrial wildlife. The Measures consists of 28 articles.
The State Forestry Bureau shall be responsible for the organization, guidance and supervision of national monitoring, prevention and control of epidemics and epidemic sources for terrestrial wildlife. The forestry competent authorities at or above the county level shall establish terrestrial wildlife epidemics and epidemic sources monitoring and control system, and gradually improve the detection, early warning, prevention and control ability; regularly organize survey on terrestrial wildlife epidemics and epidemic sources, to grasp the basic situation and dynamics of diseases, for the development of monitoring programs, prevention programs; and develop terrestrial wildlife disease emergency plan. Measures should be taken to encourage and support relevant scientific research.
