In compliance with the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, Regulation No. 338/97 makes provision in respect of the introduction into, or the export or re-export from the Community of specimens of specific endangered species and establishes related conditions and requirements. The present Regulation aims at implementing such provisions particularly as regards the issuance, validity and use of documents required.
