These Regulations apply to designated products, (i.e. specified dehydrated milk food specified in column 2 of the Table of Schedule 1) intended for human consumption and ready for delivery to the ultimate consumer or to a catering establishment. They transpose for Northern Ireland Council Directive 2001/114/EC relating to certain partly or wholly dehydrated preserved milk products intended for human consumption. They, among other things: prohibit the labelling with reserved descriptions of food other than the designated condensed and dried milk products to which they relate and set out other labelling requirements; apply certain provisions of the Food Safety (Northern Ireland) Order 1991 with modifications; impose an obligation on food authorities to enforce these Regulations.
