These Regulations enforce in England Community legislation on maximum permitted levels of contaminants in food including feed additives. They, among other things, provide that it is an offence to place specified foods on the market containing erucic acid in excess of permitted levels and define various offences and provide with respect to sampling and analysis. The Regulations provide that it is an offence, among other things: (a) to place on the market certain foods if they contain contaminants
