This Decree prescribes rules relative to the discharge of waste water produced by households in the Netherlands. The Decree integrates rules that were incorporated in other legislation and updates and adjusts those rules to requirements of effective environment protection. The Decree applies to all water produced or collected in or around households. No permit to discharge is required for the discharge of household water. The rules apply to water discharged through the central sewerage system and waters brought directly into inland water or the soil.
