The present Ordinance enforces the Foodstuff and Feedstuff Codex in its version of 26 April 2006. In particular, the Ordinance lays down provisions relating to penalties to be paid for actions contrary, inter alia, to the following EU- directives: Regulation (EC) No. 999/2001 laying down rules for the prevention, control and eradication of certain transmissible spongiform encephalopathies of 22 May 2001; Regulation (EC) No. 852/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the hygiene of foodstuffs of 29 April 2004; Regulation (EC) No. 853/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down specific hygiene rules for the hygiene of foodstuffs of 29 April 2004; Regulation (EC) No. 854/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down specific rules for the organisation of official controls on products of animal origin intended for human consumption of 29 April 2004; Commission Regulation (EC) No. 2073/2005 on microbiological criteria for foodstuffs of 15 November 2005.
