Purpose of this Act is to provide for the conservation and management of forests. It concerns the acquisition of timber rights and other rights related thereto by the State from customary owners (they include the right of felling, cutting, removing and disposing of timber, entering on the land, building and using roads and bridges as necessary, etc.). The Act provides also for the establishment of National forests and reserved trees, and makes provisions for the issuance of licences or permits regarding forest products. Final provisions regard the penalties to be applied in case of violation.
