These Measures, consisting of 27 Articles, aim to protect and reasonably utilize the resources of medicinal wild plants, and promote sustainable development of traditional medicine sector.
The wild medicinal plants protected under these Measures are the rare, endangered wild medicinal plants which are gown natively and naturally, and listed in the Key Protected Wild Medicinal Plant Directory of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. People's governments at or above the county level shall strengthen the work of the protection of medicinal wild plant resources, organize the preparation of protection and development planning thereof, which is in line with the overall planning of urban and rural planning and land use planning. Funds for wild medicinal plant resources protection shall be included in the government budget. The Measures provide further for establishment of protected areas of wild medicinal plants, supervision and administration, offences and penalties, etc.
