These Regulations provide a new regime for neighbourhood planning as foreseen by the Localism Act 2011. The Regulations, among other things: make provision in relation to the procedure for designating a neighbourhood area and provides with respect to the relevant administrative structure; provide with respect to neighbourhood development plans and to neighbourhood development orders; make provision for compliance with the requirements of the Council Directive 92/43/EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora and Council Directive 85/337/EEC on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment.
