This Order sets regulations on standard requirements concerning ear tagging for the identification of bovine, swine, ovine and caprine animals. Particular emphasis is made on registration thereof, which shall be notified to the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Central Livestock Register (CHR) by assigning an identification number containing information on provenience, ownership and data of the animal(s). Earmarking shall be of yellow colour, must include log, CKR identification number and "DK". It shall be made of plastic, and approved for use by ICAR (International Committee on Animal Recording). Finally electronic earmarking and/or chip must adhere to ISO standard 11784 and 11785.
The Order consists of 6 Chapters and 2 Appendices: Scope and definitions (1); Ear tags, electronic ear tags and chips for bovines (2); Ear tags, electronic ear tags and chips for sheeps and goats (3); Ear tag for swine (4); Administrative provisions, approval and registration in the CHR (5); Penalty and entry into force (6).
