This Order provides guidelines on measures for preventing, identifying and regulating salmonellosis in poultry and sets rules for the detection of Campylobacter in broilers. The Order does not include measures for infections with Salmonella Gallinarum and Salmonella Pullorum (fowl typhoid). Tests and inspections shall adhere to protocols implemented in adherence to EU regulations and listed in the document's Appendices. Antimicrobial agents should not be used as a method to control salmonella in poultry; antimicrobials are however used to treat salmonellosis while vaccination may not be used for the prevention and control of salmonella in broilers and chickens.
