Order No. 715 on veterinary controls on import of animal-originating food and on penalties for infringement of related EU legislation.

The Order applies to animal-originating food import to Denmark from developing countries as well as others, including food transiting via Denmark. Purpose of the Order is to set out rules which ensure approval certifications are issued, following thorough customes controls. Food may be refused import in Denmark if found with residues of veterinary medicinal products illegally permitted in accordance with EU laws (MRL - Maximum Residue Limit). Animal-originating food being imported in the country for analysis/research and/or exhibition purposes for country representatives (Embassies) may be granted entrance in Denmark.
Until 15 August 2012 a restricted type of fish and meat originating from developing countries shall be granted entrance in Denmark (Hong Kong, Jamaica, Namibia).
The Order consists of 14 Chapters and 20 Appendices: Scope and definitions (1); Trade (2); Imports from third countries (3); Import for free circulation of conform food originating in third countries (4); Imports of non-harmonized food originating in third countries (5); Transit and storage of non-compliant food products originating in third countries (6); Transport of food from third to third countries via Denmark for transhipment (7); Returning food (8); Import (9); Samples (10); Veterinarian appointed warehouses (11); Sealing (12); Transition and exemption clauses (13); Criminal and implementation provisions (14).
