These Provisions are enacted according to the "Wildlife Protection Law of the People's Republic of China"and "Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Autonomous Regulations". The Provisions contain 17 Articles.
The wild animals protected in these Provisions refer to the wild animals: (a) the national rare and endangered terrestrial and aquatic wild animal protection approved and promulgated by the State Council; (b) the key protected wild animal announced by Autonomous Prefecture's and provincial governments; (c) terrestrial wild animals of important economic or scientific value as announced by wild animal administrative departments at national, provincial and autonomous prefecture level. The major non-hunting areas shall be established in the Autonomous Prefecture. The Regulations further provide for the measures to be taken for supervision and inspection, offences and penalties, etc.
